Description: Elephant Act is the fourth and latest piece in the Circus Ring series of cut glass sculptures. The series was inspired by the artist’s childhood memories of the wonder, excitement and dazzling colors of the circus. Each unique Ring in the series captures the essence of its featured animals and trainer, and the accompanying performers as well.
For Elephant Act we have two elegant performing animals led by their trainer and two daring women in beautiful costume riding atop. The figures are first sculpted in clay and then overlaid with complimentary colored hand cut glass. The colors are rich and dynamic and the effect is that reflected light dances and sparkles across the surface of the scene. Each figure has mounting studs that fit it into its position on the glass covered Circus Ring. The Ring is supported by a wood platform that rotates on its base so you can easily view the Ring from various viewpoints. This one-of-a-kind work is signed and includes a personal handwritten letter by the artist describing the design and development of the piece.
When assembled, the sculpture measures approximately 18”wide x 18” deep x 20” high and weighs about 20 pounds. Upon purchase, each figure will be wrapped for protection and the pieces placed in an appropriate shipping container for delivery by UPS or FedEx. Arrangements can be made for hand delivery and setup of the artwork by the artist.
