Description: Big Cat Act is the third piece in the Circus Ring series of cut glass sculptures. The series was inspired by the artist's childhood memories of the bright colors, wonder and excitement of the circus. Each ring in the series is unique and captures the essence of it's featured animals or dazzling and talented circus performers.
For Big Cat Act we have five fierce wild cats -two lions, two tigers and one leporard plus the daring animal trainer. All are enclosed in a large cage. The figures are first sculpted in clay and then covered in beautiful stained glass. The colors are rich and bold and reflected light dances and sparkles from the piece. Each figure has mounting studs that fit it into its position on the glass covered circus ring.
The ring is supported by a wood platform that rotates on it's base so you can easily view the work from all positions. The one-of-a-kind work is signed and includes a personal handwritten letter by the artist describing the design and development of the piece.
When assenbled, the sculpture measures 18" wide x 18" deep x 14" high and weighs about 25 lbs. Upon purchase each figure will be wrapped for protection and sent in an appropriate container for delivery by UPS or FedEx. Arrangement can be made for hand delivery and set-up by the artist.
